Company profile
In the year 1925 an engineer named Kirschner established a small chemical-technical factory in Staré Město. This company has produced paints since 1929 which, after the Second World War, became their main focus of manufacturing. The company grew rapidly and in 1993 it became the joint-stock company COLORLAK.
At present, our company is the largest Czech producer and distributor of paints. In addition to our main production plant in Staré Město, our COLORLAK group owns another production plant in Bílovice as well as several trading companies. The joint-stock company Panter Color, a.s. ranks among the largest wholesale paint distribution chains in the Czech Republic. Apart from ordinary paint and varnish shops, end users can also buy paints in the specialised shops of the SVĚT PROFI BAREV chain. In Slovakia, the sale and distribution are ensured by our subsidiary company COLORLAK SK, s.r.o. through the distribution stores in Banská Bystrice and Spišská Nová Ves. At the same time, COLORLAK SK, s.r.o. operates the chains of shops FEB and ColorProfi selling the full range of COLORLAK products. The plant EKOLAK, s.r.o. in Bílovice is focused on the production of interior paints and facade and insulating systems. We strengthen our prominent position not only in the domestic market but also abroad. Exports generate more than 20% of our total turnover.
We produce a very varied assortment of paints and varnishes for wood, metal, concrete and mineral surfaces. Our production also includes aerosol colours, thinners and various additional agents.
65% of our production is designated for retail consumers. Our best-selling collection of products includes stain lacquers from the ProDřevo (For Wood) range, base and finish colours from the ProKov (For Metal) range and lacquers, finish colours and single-coat colours from the Univerzál (Universal) range. Paints in aerosol form and products of the ProBeton (For Concrete) range are a speciality of the firm. The ProInterier (For Interior) range includes both white and coloured paints. A modern trend in the choice of painting materials is the widespread utilisation of the universal tinting system Multicolor 2001.
35 % of our production caters to the industrial market. Our products are used, above all, in the engineering, wood-processing and building industries and also for road surface marking. Based on the findings of our own research and development team we can react flexibly in fulfilment of our customers’ requirements. A further contribution to this is also the installation of an automatic industrial tinting machine, which enables the production of paint materials in the required tone within 24 hours, in quantities as small as 5 kg.
The main plant in Staré Město is a manufacturing complex where we utilise the most up-to-date technologies and procedures. Our company offers, in addition to standard production, the possibility to employ modern production capabilities, especially for employing aerosol packaging with diverse products. We are also capable of special production in fulfilment of requests. Our other services include removal of old paint from metal surfaces and recycling of waste solvents if required.
A permanent guarantee of high manufacturing quality with respect to protection of the environment underlines our policy. Evidence of this is the granting of permission to use the logo “Responsible Care”, which is a benchmark of responsible procedures in the chemical industry. Since 1996 we have also been awarded the Quality Management System Certificate ISO 9001 and since 2002 the Environmental Management System Certificate ISO 14001.
To support our sales strategy we organise business seminars, trainings, presentations and participate in specialised exhibitions and fairs. In order to avoid negative environmental impact we educate our consumers, retailers and the public on the topic of safe usage of the products which we supply. Our company sponsors many sporting and cultural events. A portion of our sponsoring donations is also dedicated to the maintenance of cultural sites and the support of environmental and charitable non-profit organisations.
Our world is a world of colours. The finest colours which are kind to the environment.
Colours whose characteristics are appreciated by both amateurs and professionals.
